M/K Ørsdølen is a boat that goes meanwhile in the holiday traffic on 17-kilometer-long Ørsdalsvannet in Bjerkreim. Ørsdølen was the last boat, which went on a lake in Rogaland to an organised route traffic. The traffic was officially discontinued in 1983.
The departure takes place with a trainer at an agreed place.
We follow the E-39, past Sandnes, Ålgård, before we come to Bjerkreim. Bjerkreim is the town that we want to get to know better. At Vikeså, we pass the UN Park, the monument of soldiers from Rogaland, who died in UN service. We're going to Odlandstø, where the M/K Ørsdølen is waiting. We begin the great journey and drive through the scenic surroundings of Ørsdalsvannet. On the tour, we pass many beautiful historical farms and orchards. There is the possibility to enjoy cold or warm dishes in Lauperak. The most popular dish is Bjerkreimskomla. In summer, many grilled dishes are on the menu. On the boat, you can also buy coffee and soft drinks. In Ørsdalen, a bus will be waiting to take us to Odlandstø to go on board to the M/K Ørsdølen. We make a spectacular drive on Ørsdalsbrekka and by a tunnel, before we come to the ski area Stavtjørn. A nice journey on hilly terrain, except in the cities of Vikeså and Egersund.
The duration amounts approximately 5 hours. A reservation is necessary.
